Community Cardiology

Tel: 0333 332 6946

The Community Cardiology Service is a local NHS service for patients who have a suspected heart complaint and require further investigation.

Many of the tests needed for diagnosing heart conditions can be carried out at a community clinic. This saves patients from having to travel to a hospital, such as Eastbourne DGH.

Patients living in Herstmonceux, Hailsham and the surrounding area will normally be offered an appointment for the clinic held at Herstmonceux Integrative Health Centre (HIHC). They will be referred by their GP and don’t need to be registered at HIHC. Alternative clinics are held in Eastbourne and Westham, near Stone Cross.

The clinics are run by GPs who specialise in Cardiology. They work closely with the Cardiology Consultants at the Hospital. Working alongside the GPs are cardiac nurses and physiologists who carry out the ECGs, heart monitoring tests and echocardiography (ultrasound scans of the heart).

If you have an appointment with the Community Cardiology Service at Herstmonceux Integrative Health Centre, please report to reception when you arrive and wait for the doctor to call you.

The Community Cardiology Service is run separately from Herstmonceux Integrative Health Centre.
