Debbie Simkins - Nurse
Qualified as a nurse in 1984, St Bartholomews Hospital, School of Nursing, London. Following on from that I worked in operating theatres then took a 10 year break to travel all over the world and then to undertake a degree in Biology and animal Behaviour. I had my children, now aged 24 and 18, and as they became older I moved from part time work to full time at an orthopae3dic hospital. I became a Practice Nurse 3 years ago and when not working I am interested in Wildlife, conservation and walking my German Shepherd dog
Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks.
They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
