I am a Paramedic by background, joining Sussex Ambulance Service in 2002 which later became South East Coast Ambulance Service. I attended Portsmouth University for my Paramedic Science FdSc whilst working in Brighton and then in 2010, my BSc at St. George's University, London, moving to work as a Paramedic Practitioner in Hailsham and Eastbourne areas. In 2014 I moved into education and training of student Paramedics, completing two MSc (level 7) modules as part of my PGCE at University of Brighton, before coming away from the ambulance service and joining primary care, in a GP practice in early 2018.

In 2022 I completed my Non-medical Prescribers course (Level 7) with Nottingham University.

I am passionate about resilience and wellbeing, both for myself and my colleagues, as well as patients. I firmly believe that taking care of yourself is productive time and for me, fitness and getting outdoors helps with my wellbeing (and the fact I love food!). In my leisure time I like to keep healthy through walking, running, cycling and paddleboarding. I enjoy a workout and using the gym.

I also enjoy meals out (did I mention I like food?), gardening, watching rugby, spending time with my family and supporting my 2 daughters with their school and careers, dancing lessons and competitions.

I joined the surgery admin team in November 2022. I have had a very varied career so far! I trained originally as a nurse then went on to work for a private healthcare company. I then had a complete career change and set up and managed a breakfast and afterschool club. When that closed I worked in various admin roles and self-employment until landing at HIHC and I love it! It uses so many of my skills and no two days are the same. I have been married for 34 years and have 2 grown up children and 3 grandchildren. I love spending time on the beach, seeing the family and can be regularly found in the gym weight training. My hubby and I enjoy watching Masterchef and Bake off together as well as crime drama and action movies.

GP net earnings

NHS England require that the net earnings of doctors engaged in the practice is publicised, and that the required disclosure is shown below. It should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice, and should not be used to form wording any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparison with any other practice.

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working in Herstmonceux Integrative Health Centre in the last financial year was £47,848 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 2 Part-time GPs and 3 salaried GP’s working at the practice.
